It’s common to hear people get concerned about the pool of people from which to choose when they start to raise their standards, set boundaries, and operate from a much healthier and more aligned place. The pool *does* shift, and that can be deeply confronting. When we get clear on our boundaries, what’s acceptable and what isn’t, what creates expansion for us vs what doesn’t, we begin to honor authentic love and connection over that which distracts us from our insecurities. One of my favorite quotes from Warsan Shire reads “my alone feels so good, I’ll only have you if you’re sweeter than my solitude.” How’s your relationship with solitude? Get intimate with it, friends. When you enjoying being with yourself, then you can trust that those who enter are there to expand instead of distract. What it could look like? You won’t let just anybody occupy your space and time. You won’t go on that date just to go on it. You won’t spend time with someone who crosses your boundaries time and time again. You won’t shape shift just to have a partner. You’ll become okay with ending relationships that are dysfunctional or unhealthy. You’ll recognize that solitude IS greater than the things and people that ask you to abandon yourself or to play small. Yes, the pool might shrink, but it is so worth it. Don’t be afraid of it, it’s the place where alignment and healthy relationships are born. #mindfulmft ____________ Reminders: 1. The Get The Love You Want online course is up and running.
