In 'Event Horizon,' they fall, hunker down, grieve, reach out, play, and—perhaps most crucially—protect their mysteries." –Maggie Nelson Kara Walker's 'Event Horizon' (2005) occupies Arnhold Hall's main stairwell leading from the ground-floor lobby to the Theresa Lang Community and Student Center on the second floor. Accentuating the sharply turning stairs, Walker in effect compresses her signature panoramic arrays into a precipitous plunge to the underworld.
