THREE FORMS OF SEX

There are 3 main forms of sex.
Understanding the differences can completely change your relationship.
So, let's take a look at them.
The first is transactional sex.
This is the quickie, the stress reliever, the "let's just get it over with" kind of connection. It's about release. Sometimes it's necessary. Sometimes it's healing. It can restore intimacy, show you that you are wanted, and bring back the spark in moments of distance. However, if this becomes the only type of sex you have, it's a warning sign. It means that intimacy has been replaced by habit.
The second form is making love.
It's about presence, tenderness, and emotional safety. It's slower, more intentional, and built on trust. It's about connection. It's the way partners express love through touch. It's oxytocin bonding. It's mindfulness. It's the kind of sex that deepens emotional bonds and makes you feel safe enough to be seen.
And then there's fucking.
Raw, uninhibited, primal.
Here, consensual, mutual, pleasurable, dominance and submission meet.
Here, you let go of control, shame, and inner rules, and fully embrace your desire.
Raw fucking is about truth.
It's about freedom.
It's about expressing your most authentic, unfiltered self.
Raw fucking is intense. It's honest. It's fiery.
It brings you back to the centre of your body.
A healthy relationship needs all three forms of sex.
You need the release,
you need the intimacy,
and you need the fire.
Because when connection meets desire, and safety meets surrender, sex becomes more than just physical.
Sex becomes sacred.
Most couples fall into a standard pattern.
Most couples settle for a standard routine.
Most couple settle for a limited range.
Many couples become beige and boring and one dimensional in their sex luves and wonder why the connection in relationships starts to feel forced.
For some, transactional sex becomes the norm.
In, out, done, and on with the day.
For others, making love increasingly becomes a duty, gentle and safe, but without heat.
And for many, the raw, unfiltered expression of desire completely disappears.
Most of the time, the attraction hasn't gone away.
The range has.
Transactional Sex:
More Complex Than You Think
Transactional sex, the quickie, serves a real purpose. It's efficient. It relieves stress.
It's a way to briefly connect when life is overwhelming, and you need to remind yourselves that your bodies are still communicating. It says, "I want you, even in the midst of this chaos."
The problem isn't transactional sex itself.
The problem arises when it becomes the only option. When every encounter follows the same pattern: quick, functional, efficient.
When it's no longer just one colour on the palette, but the entire picture. Beige. Boring. Limited.
Making love is the form of sex that most people believe they should be having all the time.
This is the culturally accepted version of good sex.
It's intimate, connected, and emotionally rich.
This is the sex that's written about in women's magazines and praised in relationship guides.
This is what therapists refer to when they talk about deepened intimacy.
And they're right.
This form of sexual expression is essential.
It creates safety. It builds trust. It conveys care in a way that words can't. When you make love with someone, you're allowing them to see you.
You're showing up without armour.
You're saying with your body, "You are important to me. I am here with you."
This is oxytocin territory.
The neurochemistry of bonding.
The kind of sex that makes you feel closer.
The kind where you want to lie next to each other afterward, instead of rolling away.
The kind that heals old wounds, the ones that are connected to feeling wanted, valued, and worthy of someone's full attention.
In couples therapy, when people say they're missing intimacy, they're often describing exactly this.
They're missing being seen.
They're missing the feeling that their partner is present, instead of performing or going through the motions.
They're missing sex that feels like a conversation, like a dance, like a mutual exploration.
But this is where couples often get stuck.
They turn making love into another form of performance.
It has to be perfect.
It has to last a long time.
It has to include certain elements: candlelight, music, the right kind of touch.
They make it so "special" that spontaneity dies.
Or worse, they make it the only acceptable form of sex.
Anything faster, harder, wilder is seen as selfish, detached, or less valuable.
They create a narrow definition of what "intimate sex" is, and then wonder why their desire feels limited.
Making love is crucial. It's the glue. But it can't be the whole story.
The Primal Fucking.
What Disappears First
This is the form of sex that disappears the fastest. The raw, uninhibited, "fuck me now" encounter that shuts off your thinking and goes straight to your body.
The sex where you don't care what you look like, what sounds you make, or if you're doing anything "right."
You're just in the experience.
This is where consensual, mutual, safe dominance and erotic submission live.
This is where fantasy lives.
This is where the parts of you that don't get a voice in everyday life get to express themselves.
It's intense.
It's brave.
It's the sex that leaves a mark.
It's the sex that makes you feel more alive.
Why does this disappear?
Because it requires a level of trust that goes beyond emotional safety. Once emotional and physical safety are firmly established. Fucking wildly is intentional, it is consciousness, it must always be mutual, safe and consensual. Primal Fucking is not one sided or unsafe or forced or coercive. It is always mutually agreed.
Fucking as wild animals demands a willingness to be seen in a way that feels vulnerable.
It requires letting go of control. It requires showing your partner the parts of your desire that might not make sense, that feel embarrassing, that reveal something about you that feels exposed.
Most people carry shame around their erotic selves. We've learned that certain desires are allowed and others aren't.
We've learned to edit ourselves.
We've learned to play a version of sexuality that feels acceptably beige. instead of mutually, intensely safe & true.
In long-term relationships, the stakes feel higher.
You have more to lose.
So you play it safe.
You hold back the wild parts of your desire.
You have routine sex in a way that feels controllable, comfortable, and "right."
And slowly, this part goes quiet.
You forget what it feels like to be sexually fully expressed.
You forget what it feels like to surrender to a desire without internal negotiations.
This creates a special kind of emptiness.
Because in the primal part of sexuality, there's aliveness.
There, you meet yourself as a body, as an animal, as something beyond your social role.
When you lose access to this part, you lose a vitality that no other area of life can provide.
Each form serves a function.
Transactional sex keeps you connected during times of overwhelm. Making love builds safety and deepens connection. Consensual Primal sex keeps desire alive and allows you to express parts of yourself that don't get a voice in everyday life.
When you have access to all three forms, you have range.
You can meet each other in different energies, depending on what the moment needs.
Sometimes you need it fast and functional.
Sometimes you need it soft and slow.
Sometimes you want to tear each other apart.
The relationships that stay erotically alive for decades understand this.
They don't try to make every encounter meaningful.
They don't try to make every encounter wild.
They have a full spectrum of expression available to them.
This requires two things.
First, a safe mutual awareness.
You have to be able to name what's happening.
You have to be able to recognize when you're stuck in one form and have lost access to the others.
You have to be able to talk about it without shame.
Second, permission.
You have to give yourself and your partner permission to want different things at different times.
Permission for efficiency.
Permission for tenderness.
Permission for primal wildness.

Without this permission, you're controlling your partner's desires and trying to force everything into one mold.
And remember, growing in a relationship requires consensual authenticity, mutual safety and alignment. Especially during the most sacred act of freely sharing our most intimate energy.
